I’ve read the first and the second part from hunger games already and I really enjoyed it. First I didn’t know that the area could be destroyed and that the destroyed district 13 is the base of the rebellions.

·         Discuss your favorite/least favorite character.

My favorite character is Katniss Everdeen because she is really brave. In the first book she went to the hunger games instead of her small sister, she would have killed herself instead of killing Peeta in the games and she defied the Capitol. She is also the flash point of the rebellion.

I don’t really have a least favorite character because I think every character on their own is important for the plot and if this character would have acted different, the plot would have end up different.

·         Discuss your favorite scenes. What did you find shocking?

The most shocking scene for me was that also Snow threat Katniss to kill her family if she won’t stop the rebellion.

·         What makes the most important moment in the story? Give reasons why you think so.

I think that the most important moment in the story is the end as Katniss destroyed the area and got saved by district 13, Peeta got caught by the Capitol and district 12 got destroyed, because this is the final catalyst of the rebellion again the Capitol.

·         If you could change the plot, how would you do this?

I think this book is awesome and I won’t change anything on the plot.

The ending is opened so all people have to buy the last book to know how it ends up.

I also like how Katniss escaped out of the area and got saved from a hovercraft of the 13 district.

I think that Katniss home district got destroyed makes the plot more exciting because she got told this in the last sentence of the book so you could construe the feelings of Katniss by yourself.

·         Which questions would you like to ask the author?

I think I would as the author how she gets the ideas to write such a brilliant book and if she enjoyed writing this book.

·         Discuss what makes the book a page turner/a bore?

I think the book is a page turner because you don’t know how everything mind end up and you could really put yourself in every character from the first sentences but you must read the first book first instead you won’t understand the second book.

·         Discuss what you think the main message is?

The main message of the book is that even only one rebellious act can cause a big rebellion. “Even a little spark can cause a fire.” 

Summary of the plot:

In the hunger games one girl and one boy of all of the 12 districts get elected to fight in an unusual differentiated area against the others. The Capitol remote controls the whole area, so they could change everything for example the weather. Normally only one person is allowed to win the games but since the 74. Hunger games Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark a change in the rules allowed both to win. Not long after the capitol cancels the change in the rules again and only one could win the games. Instead to kill themselves, they affected to eat poisonous berries to kill them both so the capitol would have no winner. In the last minute the capitol tells that both win the game. Peeta tells Katniss that he is in love with her.

At the tour of the winners with Katniss and Peeta, many people in the district 11 start to whistle a melody which Katniss whistles when Rue from district 11 died. The action with the berries and with the whistling was for the capitol to rebellious so two winners from every district of the last hunger games fight against in the 75. Hunger games.

Katniss and Peeta have to take part in the 75. Hunger games again. This year the location of the area is a sandy beach, a salt water sea, a jungle and like every year there is a cornucopia, this year filled with arms. Katniss knows if want to save Peetas live she has to die, but Katniss succeed to destroy the whole area. She got saved by a hovercraft from the avoidable destroyed district 13. Before Katniss arrive in district 13 she comes to know that Peeta got caught by the Capitol and her own district, district 12 got totally destroyed. 

Review of the book

I am going to write a review about the book “hunger games; the catching fire” from Suzanne Collins. The book is about the famous hunger games, which are arranged by the Capitol. Every year 2 people from 12 districts have to fight against. The rules prove that there could only be one winner. The 24 people are brought into a differentiated area where also everything is remote controlled by the Capitol.

At the 74 hunger games Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark are the winners because they refused to kill themselves and this also sparks a rebellion in all districts.

The capitol is very angry and wants revenge on Katniss and Peeta. So the Capitol let the last two winners from every district and also Katniss and Peeta fight against again in the 75 hunger games because the Capitol only wants one winner and not two like Katniss and Peeta and it also want to bear down the rebellion caused of Katniss and Peetas defy to kill themselves.

I really like this book because it is so fascinating and you also can’t stop reading this book. If you want to know how the book “hunger games; the catching fire” from Suzanne Collin finished and if Katniss and Peeta survive the 75 hunger games you have to read this exciting and awesome book.
